Dance is the closest we humans ever come to the freedom of an eagle in space. Unposed, choreographed dance is rarely captured successfully in real-time. Here, in this gallery, you will find images of real performances. These photos were shot in dance studios with black Marley floors and black curtains as backdrops. Studio strobes (which take 30 to 60 seconds to recycle between each shot) have frozen the dancers in space at the emotional peek of their movement. In 1/10,000 of a second the strobes have captured an instant in time impossible to experience otherwise.
